DeFi checklist

Transfer funds to your bank account

Overview
  • Move crypto from your wallet to a centralized exchange or fiat provider that supports withdrawals to your country.
  • Sell your crypto for fiat (USD, EUR, etc.), then request a bank withdrawal from the provider.
  • Always verify fees, processing time, and minimum withdrawal limits before confirming.

Your bank account never connects directly to Trust Wallet – it connects to the exchange / provider where you sell your assets.

Report scam & fraud

Safety first
  • Immediately stop talking with anyone asking for your recovery phrase or remote access to your device.
  • Revoke approvals on suspicious dApps and disconnect your wallet from unknown websites.
  • Contact the official Help Center and your local authorities if funds were stolen.

No one from Trust Wallet support will ever ask for your 12-word recovery phrase or private keys.

Sent funds to the wrong network

Check the transaction
  • Locate the transaction hash (TxID) inside your wallet and open it in a block explorer.
  • Confirm the network used (for example BNB Smart Chain vs. Ethereum).
  • If the receiving platform supports the same network and you control the address, you may be able to add the missing network and see the funds.

If you sent funds to an exchange that does not support that network or to an incorrect address, recovery is usually not possible.

Lost recovery phrase or private key

Important limitations
  • If you lose your recovery phrase and don’t have it backed up anywhere, support cannot restore it for you.
  • Check all devices, password managers, and secure notes where you might have saved a copy.
  • If someone else has your phrase, move any remaining funds to a brand-new wallet immediately.

Your recovery phrase = full control of your wallet. Never share it with anyone, even “support” agents.

Selling crypto in-app fails

Troubleshooting
  • Check that the amount you’re trying to sell meets the minimum required by the provider.
  • Make sure you have enough native token to cover network fees (e.g., BNB for BSC, ETH for Ethereum).
  • Try again later – sometimes partners are temporarily unavailable in specific regions.

Locate “missing” funds

Before you panic
  • Confirm you’re on the correct network and the token is added to your wallet.
  • Use the transaction hash in a block explorer to see the real status (Success / Pending / Failed).
  • If the transaction is successful, but the token isn’t visible, manually add the token contract address.

Getting started with Trust Wallet

New users
  • Install the official app from the links above, then choose Create a new wallet or Import.
  • Write down your 12-word recovery phrase on paper and store it offline in more than one secure place.
  • Enable extra security such as device passcode, biometrics, and app-lock.

Buying & cashing out crypto

On-ramp / off-ramp
  • Use the “Buy” button in the app to purchase crypto using a trusted third-party provider.
  • To cash out, send your crypto to an exchange that supports withdrawals to your bank or card.
  • Always double-check recipient addresses and networks before sending.

Generating rewards

Staking basics
  • Only stake coins you understand and are comfortable locking for a period of time.
  • Review the APY/APR, lock-up period, and unbonding time before confirming.
  • Remember that rewards are not guaranteed and on-chain risks always exist.

Connecting to DeFi & dApps

Use with caution
  • Always verify the official link to a dApp – avoid random links from social media or DMs.
  • When you sign a transaction, read what you are approving (spend limits, permissions, etc.).
  • Regularly review and revoke approvals for dApps you no longer use.

Security checklist

Best practices
  • Never share your recovery phrase or private keys with anyone, under any circumstances.
  • Bookmark official websites and apps – do not search for them in ads or unknown links.
  • Keep your device updated, use a strong screen lock, and avoid installing untrusted apps.
